1.  On the request submitted by RC to the local MLA, a building measuring 25x75 was constructed under Backward Region Development Fund for exclusive use of IGNOU Study Centre 2025, Kiphire by local MLA.

2.  RC has organized and conducted 6 Short-term Training Programmes of 2-4 days on Hygienic Meat Production and Processing, Integrated Farming System, Organic Farming & Horticulture and Rainwater Harvesting and Watershed Management in remote and rural areas with the objective to generate self employment avenues for the educated Unemployed youths and gainful employment to the farmers where more than 300 persons attended the training programmes.

3.  RC has conducted a Regional Seminar on “Training of Un-trained Teachers in North East India: Issues and Challenges” where more than 70 Participants from all the North East attended the Seminar. Two other Seminars namely Seminar on HIV/AIDs and Seminar on Importance of ICT in Teaching & Learning through ODL were conducted for Co-odinators/PICs and Academic counselors.

4.  RC conducted a Workshop for North East Students on Developing Study Skills and Psychological Skills for better performance. Another workshop on Career Guidance and Counseling was conducted for IGNOU Students.

5.  On the initiative taken by the RC, the State Govt. has allotted 8.3 Acres of land for construction of IGNOU RC Kohima.
